Peter Suter

Philatelist / freelancer

«My long experience as a collector, valuations expert and dealer helps me consistently spot the finer and most important details.»

Peter Suter is a philatelist with a passion. He already collected poisoned stamps as a child. After his apprenticeship as a machine mechanic at the BBC, a few years of work experience and a military career up to sergeant, he was hired at a young age by the renowned Basel stamp company Marken Müller as a philatelist with budgetary responsibility. After a few years, he and business partner Silvio Martin took over the Aarau stamp shop Geisseler and founded the auction company of the same name. After the retirement of his business partner, he was looking for a new challenge, which he found in our company. He became co-owner together with Christina Rölli in 2004 and took over the philatelic and technical management with a lot of passion. In 2021, Peter Suter unfortunately had to leave the company for health reasons. In the meantime he is well enough again to be able to offer his philatelic knowledge to the company.

Philately is also a great passion of Peter Suter in his private life. He has been involved in youth philately since his early twenties. He is a successful exhibitor with various, diverse areas of expertise and provides his expertise as a juror at stamp exhibitions and on various other philatelic committees. In 2005 he became a member of the Consilium Philatelicae by invitation. Peter Suter prefers to spend the rest of his free time travelling and enjoying a good glass of wine and a cigar on the terrace.
